Dezső was awarded the title of Covalen Value Champion for embodying our “be wise” value.

What is your role at Covalen Dezső?

Remote Desktop Manager (RDM – Level 2 Technical Support) on our client account.

Where is your role based?

Budapest, Hungary

How long have you worked with Covalen?

Almost 2.5 years

How did you feel about firstly being nominated as a ‘be wise’ Value Champion?

I was very surprised. I didn’t think people would have nominated me after two years at Covalen. I suppose I didn’t realise my impact during my time so far at Covalen, so it really was a big surprise.

How did you feel about receiving the Covalen Value Champion award?

It was a double surprise. I felt great to be recognised and to know that my collaboration is so highly appreciated by the team.

Here are a few of the comments used to describe you by your peers.

Describe in your own words what ‘be wise’ means to you and how you have embodied our ‘be wise’ value into your day-to-day activities?

To me, be wise means to understand. Understand the challenge, understand its roots. Understand the reasons. Also, to understand the reasons behind the actions of others. To be able to look in from the outside for a clear view, but act from the inside as part of the team. And to learn as much as possible, for the simple reason that information and knowledge helps to ease our daily workload, and it helps to determine clear decisions to make. Also, to avoid taking action or making decisions without judgement.

I like to talk about what I understand. I realise that if I’m in training I cannot understand everything. When I’m in the process of learning something new, I try my best to gain an understanding. As a hobby, I’m into historical calligraphy (the art of beautiful handwriting). When you study this kind of thing, such as The Book of Kells, you need to be obsessed with perfect execution. You cannot be proficient in calligraphy without almost perfect execution.

Dezső, what lessons have you learned in the past that have empowered you to ‘be wise’?

I believe in the concept “Study as much as you practice”, a quote by Louis Madarasz, one of the greatest calligraphers of the 19th century. Of course, knowledge by itself doesn’t have too much value in daily life. It has to be applied in order to enjoy its benefits.

Overall, what impact do Our Values have on your working life at Covalen?

Our values offer guidance to our team members on the direction and approach to take, and credibility. Because of this, our values are impactful, they provide more power, in a positive sense, and the strength to demonstrate results.

Tell us about your journey with Covalen to date.

I started with Covalen in September 2019 as a Level One Technical Support Analyst (L1).

My role being to support our clients’ end users in English and French. I applied for my current role at Covalen last year and I’m happy to have been promoted to Remote Desktop Manager in Sept 2021. In this role, I deliver Level Two Technical Support (L2), as well as advising and managing our L1 tech support agents, and I help with solutions and training.

To me, be wise means to understand. Understand the challenge, understand its roots. Understand the reasons. Also, to understand the reasons behind the actions of others.

Dezső Buzogány

Remote Desktop Manager
What are your goals going forward?

To keep building strong technical proficiency. This is needed in my role as I troubleshoot and resolve challenging technical issues. So, my primary goal is to continue learning and developing my technical knowledge. At the moment, I am working to maximise my knowledge and capacity to effectively manage our clients’ tasks. And I’m open to new challenges and goals throughout my journey at Covalen.

What else drives you or motivates you to achieve your goals?

What drives me, is maintaining client satisfaction by doing my job with maximum efficiency. For any questions, I am available to assist the agents on our team. I’m always collaborating. I encourage my team to reach out with questions at any time. From my own experience, I’m a naturally self-motivated person. I like to learn and grow and keep developing my knowledge. I have a drive for knowledge and helping my collaborators to improve their skills and their performance because it makes my job easier when they perform to the best of their ability. I say “learn as much as possible because it will make your life easier”.

What do you like most about working at Covalen?

The team I have the chance to work with. I never experienced this kind of environment before Covalen, having previously worked in commercial goods importing. This role is totally different. It requires strong IT and communication skills, and sometimes it’s more about communicating than IT. So, at Covalen, I got the chance to work in a real team-focused environment and develop good relationships. I feel that I understand people at this stage in life. The team is very supportive, there are plenty of fun elements of collaboration and we are passionate about what we do.
