Fadel, what's your role at Covalen and what area of the business are you in?
Operations Manager at our social media site.
How long have you worked with our company?
I started with Covalen in June 2017.
Overall, what impact do Our Values have on your working life at Covalen?
Be proud and be brave are the Covalen Values that have the most impact on my working day at present. While I’m taking pride in the work I do, I always tend to go outside of normal tasks, also outside of my comfort zone to jump in and manage any new tasks or projects and see them through to completion, with the aim of exceeding expectations.
How did you feel about firstly being nominated as a ‘be proud’ Value Champion, and secondly receiving the Covalen Value Champion award?
It was an amazing surprise, as I didn’t expect to be nominated in the first place. Not to mention receiving the Covalen Value Champion Award!
Reflecting on our own achievements, as well as the achievements of colleagues, team and company can enable us to feel proud. What motivates you to be proud?
My colleagues, who I work with motivate me to be proud. They are always there to offer help and support. And my Manager always supports me and guides me through my role. Also, my Team Leads who are exceeding, they’re always willing to go the extra mile to do a flawless job.
Taking pride in your work is important to achieving success. What advice would you give to a colleague who needed to handle a big challenge?
Through my humble experience, the best advice I can give would be to listen to your colleagues and build relationships based on trust and empowerment.

Fadel Esori
Operations Manager
Tell me about your journey with Covalen to date.
I started with Covalen as Community Operations Analyst in June 2017. I was one of the first on a team who started working on the evening shift. When a new project launched, I was one of the first of 15 employees who got selected to kick off the project.
In late 2018, I applied for the Team Lead role, and I wasn’t successful. I didn’t let that impact or demotivate me. On the contrary, I worked on the feedback given with the support of my Team Lead. On my second attempt back in 2019, I put my application forward and worked closely with my Team Lead at that time to prepare myself very well. I passed the interview and got the role! From January 2019, I started as a Team Lead. In January 2021, I was successful in my application for the Operations Manager position.
What are your goals going forward?
To master the Operations Manager role and to get more involved in Covalen’s wider goals.
How do you feel empowered to achieve your goals?
I feel empowered from the trust given to me by my Direct Manager.
What do you like most about working at Covalen?
The Covalen culture, which is based on understanding and acceptance. All of the employees are always willing to help. Not to mention the managerial open doors, where all of the managers are easy to approach, and are ready to help and jump in if you struggle with a task.
